My $40 Weekly Grocery Challenge--part 2!!

So, remember earlier in the week when I posted my first Publix trip for this week's $40 challege? Well, at that point, I had only spent around $14 of my weekly grocery money and had about $26 left. I did make one other trip before today, but only spent $7 on some more Gatorade and a few things for my hubby.

After that, I still had $18 of my grocery budget left for the week, and was in need of some trash bags. Publix has the Hefty brand on sale BOGO this week for $6.49 and I had another $5/50 competitor coupon that expired today. So, of course, I was not going to let that coupon go to waste! :) Here is what I got for just $4.37!!!! And, I still have $13 left from this week's budget to combine with next week's $40!! I must say that I am quite proud of myself! :)

--2 bottles of assorted Sundown vitamins- one bottle @ $2.99, one bottle @ $3.59 = $6.58 minus 2 $1/1 blinkie manuf. coupons stacked with 1 $6/1 Publix coupon (from the Green Advantage flier) = FREE plus overage!!

--2 cartons of Large Publix eggs  $1.59 each minus 1 IP BOGO coupon (sorry, link no longer available!) = $1.68 for 2 dozen large eggs! (maximum value of the BOGO coupon was $1.50)

--6 assorted Healthy Choice Cafe Steamers @ 5 for $10 = $12 minus 1 $5/5 IP coupon found HERE stacked with 3 $1/2 Publix coupons found HERE = $4 for 6 meals!!

--1 package of Phazyme @ $2.99 plus one package of Vivarin @ $3.19 = $6.18 minus 2 $2/1 manuf. coupons from Sunday inserts stacked with 1 $5/2 Publix coupon (from the Green Advantage flier) = FREE plus overage!!

--6 containers of Chobani Greek yogurt @ $1 each minus 2 B2G1 IP coupons found HERE and 4 $1/1 manuf. coupons from Sunday inserts = FREE for all 6 (2 were FREE from the B2G1 and the other 4 were FREE with the manuf. coupons!)

--2 boxes of Bayer Chewable aspirin @ $2.47 each minus 1 $5/2 Publix coupon = FREE!

--1 half gallon of Lactaid Chocolate milk @ $3 each--no coupons = $3

--1 package of Chinet Casuals paper plates @ $2.00 each minus 1 $1/1 manuf. coupon from Sunday inserts = $1!

--2 boxes of Hefty trash bags BOGO @ $6.49 each minus 2 $1/1 IP coupons found HERE = $4.49 for 90 trash bags!! My whole trip was worth this as I really needed trash bags! These will last for awhile too! :)

--1 package of Yoplait smoothie mix @ $2.50 each minus 1 FREE coupon = FREE!!

--1 $5/50 competitor coupon

Total Spent: $4.37--Amount Saved: $60.36!! I still have $13 left to go with my $40 budget next week! :)

Where do you find all the flier coupons you mentioned? On your blog and others, I've seen reference to a Green Advantage Flier, a Yellow something-or-other Flier, and the Healthier Wallet Happier You Flier. I don't know where to look in the store for those or where to go on the internet to sign up to receive them by mail. I'm new to couponing and smart shopping - I just clued in about a month ago - and already I'm chafing at all the bargains I'm missing by not having these fliers. I hope you get a chance to help me!

Hi Barbie!

I love to hear from my readers and am happy to answer any questions that you have! :)

You can look for the Publix coupons that I mention on my blog in the turnstile at Publix-where the weekly ad is usually displayed and kept. These Advantage fliers are yellow and green-very eye catching! :) Also, the other coupon booklets that you will see me mention are found throughout Publix, sometimes in stand-alone displays or also in the turnstile.

I hope that this helps you! I am happy to answer any questions that you have! You can also email me directly at mysweetsavings@gmail.com

Have fun saving money! It is addicting! :)
